We like to weigh our puppies frequently for a few different reasons.

1)  It tells us if they are
        getting enough to eat.

2)  We can chart their
growth.             

3)  It will help in early
detection of any complications.     

Depending on the anticipated size of your pup, you may need to purchase a scale.

Most of your office supplies stores are a great place to purchase postal scales at a very inexpensive cost.

An inexpensive food scale will work also.  Just make sure that the scale reads down to the ounce.  You don't have to spend a fortune.

Our recommendations for the frequency of weighing.

1)  At least twice daily for the first week you receive your pup.

2)  For the next couple of weeks, weigh your pup daily.

3)  Then weekly until the 26th week.

Know the size of poodle that you are purchasing.

 Knowing the size of the parents and grandparents is a big help in determining the size of your pup.

No one can predict the exact size of the pup at maturity.
